Paul Newman
Principal
I feel very fortunate to have worked in education across a wide range of school communities in remote, regional and urban settings throughout South Australia and the Northern Territory, including the privilege of line managing schools from the Gulf of Carpentaria south to Port Augusta and across the western and inner north of Adelaide. Those experiences have shaped my strong belief that every school is unique, and that the best outcomes come from building genuine relationships with students, staff and families. Henley also holds a personal connection for me, with many of my formative years shaped through football and surf lifesaving in the local community. At Henley, I’m passionate about creating a welcoming, connected and inclusive school where children feel known, supported and encouraged to do their very best. I value being visible, approachable and working alongside others to continue building a school where every child can grow, belong and flourish.

Aileen Clancy
Assistant Principal
I am delighted to be in my seventh year at Henley Beach Primary School. Since moving from the UK to South Australia in 2013, I have enjoyed working in local schools and feel privileged to be part of this vibrant community at Henley Beach. My passion lies in supporting both students and teachers, focusing on building resilience, responsibility and student agency in learning. I am committed to ensuring the best learning opportunities for our students and believe that working together as families and school staff is key to student success. I look forward to another fantastic year, supporting our improvement goals in writing and maths. Please keep an eye out for my newsletter updates, where I share helpful tips for supporting learning at home.
