Leadership

Student leadership opportunities are important because they empower students to develop essential skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and responsibility. By taking on leadership roles, students learn to make positive contributions to our school and community, build confidence, and prepare for future challenges. These experiences help foster a sense of belonging and pride, and encourage all students to become active, respectful, and engaged citizens. Students have a range of opportunities for leadership across their time at our school. Each student has a buddy that they support, with classes working together collaboratively on shared projects. 

Our year 6 students have the opportunity to be House Captains for their sports teams. Each team has 2 House Captains and 2 Vice Captains. Students can apply for these positions at the start of the year. They support Sports Day, House Cup and a range of sporting events across the year.

Our Student Executive Committee (SEC) is comprised of a group of year 6 students. They have opportunities throughout the year to represent our school at Principal Tours, engage in Chief Executive forums and represent student voice. By providing structured opportunities for student voice, these groups create a platform where students can contribute to decisions that affect their learning environment and wellbeing.

The SEC act as ambassadors for our school, promoting and displaying our school values within the school and in the broader community. The SEC build connections between students, staff, and families, helping to strengthen relationships and promote a positive, inclusive school culture.

Our leadership opportunities support and prepare students to be active contributors and leaders both now and in the future.
