Principal’s Welcome

At Henley Beach Primary School we celebrate and value a strong sense of community in which families, staff and students work together to maintain a friendly and welcoming environment. High expectations are held for all students at Henley Beach.

The educational opportunities here are stimulating and challenging with an emphasis on literacy, numeracy and students developing the dispositions to be successful learners. Progress towards these priorities sits alongside the implementation of the Australian Curriculum.

Children access specialist lessons in the areas of Physical Education, Science, Italian, Performing Arts and Technologies. Students also have the opportunity to participate in a range of extra-curricular opportunities including camps, instrumental music lessons, sporting activities and environmental and sustainability programs. Teaching and learning at Henley Beach emphasises the development of the whole child; covering their emotional, academic, physical and social wellbeing. These areas are underpinned by our school values, they being: Care. Respect. Safety. Doing your best.

We work closely with families to know and understand each student, both as a learner and a person, to ensure all children have access to a high quality and supportive learning environment. A vision statement has been developed for the school and endorsed by the community that captures the essence of our approach to learning.

Henley Beach Primary School aims to be a healthy and collaborative community of learners in which all members are encouraged and supported to live the values of care, respect, safety and doing your best. The school strives to have an inspiring curriculum, which promotes the learning of life skills and responsibility for one’s own learning and behaviour.

We extend an invitation to all those currently involved with the school to come and chat with staff and participate in their child’s learning as much as they are able.
