Play Group

About Playgroup:
HBPS Playgroup is available to families who either have an older sibling attending our school or are in our school zone and will be enrolling. Our main goal is to assist future students transitioning into the school environment. HBPS Playgroup is co-ordinated by Trudy Tunbridge who also works at the school in a SSO/classroom support role.
Playgroup offers a variety of activities suitable for young children. There are some structured activities that are not compulsory, but we encourage all the children to be involved. At the beginning we have a welcome song and book reading on the carpet. At the end of the session we have music/song time with instruments again on the carpet and finish with the parachute song.
Playgroup expectations:
- A safe place for you and your children to interact with other families
- Welcoming and diverse
- Supportive and caring
- A place for your child to learn/practice sharing
- A social experience for you and your children to meet others in the same community
Please be aware that playgroup is not intended to measure children’s abilities. Parents/carers are required to stay throughout the session and support with supervision.
Playgroup costs:
$3 attendance fee – this can be paid in cash on arrival (If you can bring in correct amount that would be appreciated)
